My name is Matthew, and I am a grateful recovering addict-o-holic. I have been clean and sober since July 15th, 2024, in Los Angeles — and every single day since then has been a gift I don't take for granted.
By day, I work at a detox residential treatment facility, where I get to do something I never imagined possible: help change people's lives. I get to sit with people in their darkest moments and remind them that there is a way out. That is the greatest privilege I've ever known.
Why SobrHIGHetyLIFE Exists
SobrHIGHetyLIFE Apparel is another way I get to spread the message — to the next person trying to overcome their demons, to the one who isn't sure they can make it, to the one who just needs to know they're not alone.
The values behind HIGH LIFE go deeper than just not drinking or using. People in recovery are doing something extraordinary: rebuilding themselves from the inside out. Practicing morals and ethics that my SobrHIGHetyLIFE designs show. Showing up every day. These are the things that keep us going — and these are the things our designs represent.
Wear It With Pride
Recovery is not something to be ashamed of. It is something to embrace, to carry forward, and to use as fuel to motivate others to do the same. Every piece in this collection is a chance to change the stigma against the great people in the recovery community — there is a huge difference between an addict or alcoholic, and a RECOVERING addict or alcoholic. Just because we made the mistakes in the past, we can now use our experience, strength and hope to share with anyone struggling, to hopefully help support a change in their lives and to help prevent people from having to endure that struggle we lived for too long. Truly grateful to have survived the journey and not with one shirt, one hoodie, one conversation at a time, maybe, just maybe, we can help show others a better way to live.
I hope you find something here that lets you show the world where you've been and how far you've come. If I can be even the smallest part of your recovery journey, I am lucky and grateful beyond words.
